EPFO Online Services Outage: The Employees' Provident Fund Organisation's online services disruption is likely to continue for some more time, as the system upgrade of EPFO online services has been extended by one more day. The EPFO service outage has impacted lakhs of employees due to delays in services such as login access, filing provident fund claims, passbook viewing, transfer requests, and several employer-side compliance services used across India.

As the EPFO online services remain disrupted on Thursday, lakhs of EPFO subscribers are asking: 'When Will EPFO Online Services Begin?' Here's the latest update.

When Will EPFO Online Services Start?

The EPFO online services outage has been extended and is likely to be restored by Friday, July 3, as per EPFO portal notice. The system upgrade began in June 2026 and was earlier expected to end with services resuming on June 29. The timeline was later revised with the outage extended till 11:59 pm on July 1.

Key Services Disrupted During EPFO Outage

During the disruption period, people won't be able to access the Member Interface or Employer Interface. These two login systems are central to most EPFO digital transactions, including claim submission, account updates and employer compliance filings.

For members, the outage affects several frequently used online services. Subscribers cannot log in to check provident fund balances, view passbooks, submit withdrawal claims or track the status of claims already filed. Requests linked to account transfers, personal detail updates and other member-side services also remain unavailable through the portal.

EPFO Services Disrupted on UMANG App

Apart from outage on EPFO portal, the services are unavailable on the Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) application. Members cannot use the "View Passbook" facility for their EPFO account through the app until the system upgrade is completed and services are restored.

The passbook feature is particularly important for employees who regularly check employer and employee contributions. It helps users confirm whether monthly deposits have been credited correctly. Lack of access does not necessarily mean contributions have stopped, but it limits the member's ability to verify account activity during the outage.

Withdrawal-related services are another area of concern. EPFO members often use the online system for final settlement, partial withdrawals, pension-linked claims and other requests permitted under scheme rules. If a user planned to file a claim during the outage, the submission may have to wait until online services resume.

Apart from employees, the disruption has also impacted employers. Companies are facing disruption because the employer interface is also not available. This affects access to digital facilities used for provident fund administration and statutory compliance. Companies, payroll teams and consultants that depend on the portal may be unable to complete certain routine tasks until the system is back online.
