Top Credit Card Changes Taking Place in June

Kotak Mahindra Bank

Kotak Mahindra Bank credit card users won't be able to maximise their cashback and reward benefits on fuel purchases, education payments, and other transactions via credit card from 1 June.

The revised changes for Kotak Mahindra Bank credit card include new fees for failed bills, dynamic currency conversion (DCC) and transactions which include utility bills, education payments, skill-based gaming, etc.

The bank will also update the process by which it calculates the Minimum Amount Due (MAD) on unpaid balances. Most of these changes will come into effect from 1 June 2025.

HDFC Bank

For HDFC Bank credit card users, the financial institution is providing changes in two credit cards. Tata Neu Infinity and Tata Neu Plus credit card owners are likely to see a revision in their policy.

As per the revised credit card policy for these two cards, their users won't be able to swipe their cards directly at airport lounges for entry. Despite not being able to swipe credit cards for airport lounge access, their owners would be able to use the facility. HDFC will issue lounge access vouchers to eligible customers based on their quarterly spending milestones.

Which means that HDFC credit card customers would require to meet the minimum threshold target for each quarter to unlock their airport lounge access benefits.

Axis Bank Credit Card

The policy of Axis Bank's co-branded credit cards, Flipkart Axis Bank Credit Card and REWARDS Credit Card, will change significantly from next month. These new credit card changes will impact the benefit usage and cashback of the cardholders.

As per the official website of the bank, there has been an increase in the cashback facility on purchases made on Myntra. Additionally, the company has also withdrawn its complimentary airport lounge access, which will change the policy for credit card holders and will impact those who are frequent flyers and require airport lounge facilities.

Axis Bank's REWARDS Credit Card will revise its policy on handling spending exclusions. As per the policy, REWARDS credit card holders will not earn extra reward points on every purchase they make, as there will be certain terms and conditions for winning reward points. The criteria for the annual renewal fee waiver are also likely to change with an increase in the minimum purchase amount.

There are will be changes in American Express Gold Charge from June 12, 2025. There is likely to be changes in fuel purchase waivers, earning of cashback points and reward points. Most of the credit card users would not be able to earn Membership Rewards points on spending money for petrol, diesel, and CNG from Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs). Due to the revised policy, Amex Gold Card users may see a decline in their reward points while spending money on refuelling, etc. As per the website, American Express Gold credit card owners won't be able to earn membership reward points on fuel payments via Gold Charge card.
