Gas Cylinder Booking: Not 25-Day Or 45-Day Rules, But This Is Biggest Change In Indane, HP, Bharat Gas In July

The month of July kickstarted with major relief for LPG cylinder bookings. Majority had expected revision in booking intervals of 25-days and 45-days for LPG refills, but it remains the same in July 2026. That said, the biggest change in Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas is the major cut in prices for the first time in 2026. Let's see where LPG is expensive or cheaper.

LPG Gas Cylinder Prices Cut From July 1, 2026:

For the first time in 2026, 19 Kg commercial LPG prices were lowered by oil marketing companies. The rates were cut in the range of Rs 173 to Rs 183.50 per cylinder depending upon cities. This comes after 19 Kg LPG prices were hiked four consecutive times from March 1st to June 30, 2026, due to a supply crunch owing to the West Asia conflict.

From March 1st to June 30, 2026, 19 Kg LPG price was hiked by Rs 1,373 in Delhi and by Rs 1,564 in Kolkata.

However, from July 1, 2026, 19 Kg LPG prices have fallen which is the biggest change.

Highest LPG Gas Cylinder Prices City-Wise

Despite the latest cut, in some cities, the commercial LPG continues to be above Rs 3,000 mark. For July 2026, 19 Kg LPG is priced at Rs 3,227 in Patna, at Rs 3,191 in Hyderabad, at Rs 3,106 in Chennai, at Rs 3,081.50 in Kolkata, at Rs 3,114.50 in Bhubaneswar, at Rs 3,052.50 in Lucknow and at Rs 3,021 per cylinder in Bengaluru.

These cities have the highest rates of LPG cylinders.

Lowest LPG Gas Cylinder Prices City-Wise

Among major metro cities, the cheapest 19 Kg LPG cylinder is priced below Rs 2,900 level which is in Mumbai. In the Mayanagari city, 19 Kg is available at Rs 2,885.50 per cylinder.

This is followed by a Rs 2,930 per-cylinder price in Delhi. Among other cities where a 19 Kg LPG cylinder is below Rs 3,000 are --- Noida at Rs 2,930; Gurgaon at Rs 2,947.50; Chandigarh at Rs 2,954.50; Jaipur at Rs 2,957.50; and Thiruvananthapuram at Rs 2,971.50 per cylinder.

However, it needs to be noted that the cut in 19 Kg cylinders will not impact normal Indian households.

Because the 19 Kg LPG cylinders are meant for industrial and commercial consumption. These commercial consumptions include eateries, hotels, restaurants, malls, food stalls and small-scale industries, as they require high consumption for cooking and heating needs.

For Indian households, the change in 14.2 Kg LPG prices is important.

Domestic LPG Gas Cylinder Prices From July 1, 2026

14.2 Kg LPG cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed, as per the Indian Oil website. Indian households use this cylinder type.

But for July 2026, the 14.2 Kg LPG prices are unchanged. Accordingly, the 14.2 Kg LPG price stood at Rs 942 in Delhi, at Rs 968 in Kolkata, at Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and at Rs 957.50 in Chennai.

The decline in LPG prices was expected since the de-escalation in the West Asian conflict and comes as major good news for both Indian households and the country's economic growth.

Gas Cylinder Booking Rules Of 25-Days & 45-Days:

Among many measures, the government has revised the rules of booking gas cylinders by extending the lock-in periods for refill.

There are currently two lock-in periods for booking LPGs. And these are 45 days and 25 days, irrespective of LPG connection. So it means, even if you have a 14.2 kg cylinder connection or 5 kg cylinder connection, the lock-in period remains 25 days in urban areas and 45 days for rural consumers.

Earlier, the lock-in period was of 21-days before March 2026 for refilling LPGs.
