Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline Ends In 2-Days: Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Users Beware! Here's How To Complete

There are fewer than 3 days left for completing LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication. Millions of Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas customers are rushing to their LPG distributors or agencies to complete the mandatory rule for Aadhaar-based e-KYC. The process can also be done online. If you haven't heard about the new gas cylinder rule and its deadline, which is scheduled for this week, then you might want to pay attention, or else you may face problems in your LPG services.

Gas Cylinder New E-KYC Rule:

The government has made it mandatory to complete LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication. This is face authentication e-KYC available at all Indian Oil, BPCL, and HPCL apps. This cannot be missed if you want to ensure a seamless delivery of your LPG cylinders.

Notably, it is compulsory for all those Indian households who have not completed the process yet, especially non-PMUY customers. So if you have already completed your e-KYC, then you do not have to worry.

When Is The LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline?

The oil marketing companies have extended the deadline for LPG e-KYC to August 23, from earlier August 16 date. This is due to heavy rush at online portals, long queues at distributors and agencies, along with glitches or technical issues that disrupted the e-KYC process earlier this week.

Hence, August 23 is the next best chance to complete your e-KYC.

Documents Needed To Complete LPG E-KYC?

The major documents Indian households need to complete the e-KYC process is the Aadhaar card or number and mobile number linked to the LPG account at IOCL, HPCL, and BPCL. The other documents include LPG consumer ID or number and the AadhaarFaceRD mobile application for Face authentication.

How To Complete E-KYC Of Indane Gas, HP Gas & Bharat Gas?

Step 1:

The first step is to download the relevant mobile applications required to complete LPG biometric Aadhaar authentications. These apps include the IndianOil One app, AadhaarFaceRD, Hello BPCL and lastly HP Pay app.

If you use Indane Gas, then you should download the IndianOil One mobile app. For Bharat Gas LPG cylinders, the main app is Hello BPCL, and for HP Gas, download HP Pay. The AadhaarFaceRD app is for all LPGs.

Step 2:

Once the relevant app is downland, the next process is to register yourself. You must add your registered mobile number or email address that you have linked with your LPG connection to register. A one-time password will be sent to your mobile or email ID to login. You can set-up your own password once registered.

After this process, just log in to the app.

Step 3:

The next step is to authenticate through Face scanner.

For Indane Gas, you will have to link your 16-digit LPG ID and then click on "My Profile" option on the home screen.

For Bharat Gas e-KYC, you will find the option directly on the homepage. However, after tapping on e-KYC, you will be directed to a new page where you will be required to enter OTP verification. A six-number OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it.

For HP Gas, you will have to first select the "MY HP" option and find e-KYC link.

A detailed instruction called "Face Authentication Advisories" or "terms and conditions" will appear. Read them carefully and give your consent to "Capture Face."

Step 4:

Once consent is given, you will be directed to a new page, where the camera will be on for the front to capture your face. Once a green signal appears on the face icon, click and submit.

Just like that, the process is completed.

What Happens If You Miss the August 23 Deadline for LPG E-KYC?

Some OMCs will suspend your LPG connection account temporarily until you complete the e-KYC process. However, customers will also loose the benefit of buying LPG at domestic or subsidized rates. As per reports, they will have to pay commercial rates for their domestic Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas Cylinders.
