Gas Cylinder E-KYC Last Date: How To Do LPG Biometric Aadhaar Authentication Of Indane Gas, HP Gas, Bharat Gas

The deadline to do your Aadhaar-based face authentication for Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas is just five days away. The government made it mandatory for non-PMUY customers to complete their LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication, which is simply called the Aadhaar-based e-KYC process. The aim is to develop transparency, tackle black marketing, and ensure genuine customers are receiving their LPG cylinders. Indian Oil has asked customers to complete their eKYC before August 16 for uninterrupted LPG services.

This means there are only five days more left to complete your e-KYC, or else you might be bound to pay for your LPG cylinders at a commercial rate, which is above Rs 2,000 across cities in India.

Gas Cylinder e-KYC Deadline:

Many customers are receiving SMS messages from their LPG operators to complete their e-KYC. Millions are yet to fulfill Aadhaar-biometric authentication despite the rule becoming mandatory since March 2026.

Indian Oil's message read, "Dear customer, you are required to do e-KYC for receiving LPG cylinder at domestic rates. Despite earlier reminders, you have not done your e-KYC so far. You can do e-KYC at your home through the IndianOil ONE App or at your distributor or through the delivery personnel. Failure to do e-KYC by August 16, 2026, would make you ineligible for cylinders at domestic rates till e-KYC is completed. Kindly complete your e-KYC at the earliest."

On August 11, Indian Oil said, "Complete your Biometric Aadhaar Authentication (eKYC) today for a seamless LPG experience!," adding, "Use the IndianOil ONE App or get it done through delivery personnel during LPG cylinder delivery or visit your Indane Distributor."

Failure To Complete E-KYC Of LPG Cylinders? Know The Impact

If you missed the deadline, the Indian Oil message itself explains that customers will not be able to buy LPG at the domestic rates till e-KYC is completed.

Some reports quoted experts saying the impact would be that customers would have to buy LPG cylinders at the commercial rates. A report said BPCL would also temporarily suspend LPG connections until e-KYC is completed of Bharat Gas cylinders.

The LPG connection will not be cancelled but will be temporarily inactive until e-KYC is completed. And you may have to pay commercial rates for an LPG cylinder.

To put in perspective, for August 2026, domestic LPG gas cylinders, which are 14.2 Kg in size, are priced at Rs Rs 942 in Delhi, Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, and Rs 957.50 per cylinder in Chennai.

The commercial LPG rates stand at Rs 2,738 in Delhi, at Rs 2,691.50 in Mumbai, at Rs 2,872.50 in Kolkata and at Rs 2,906 in Chennai. In some cities, a commercial LPG cylinder is above Rs 3,000 mark. These are the rates of the 19 Kg LPG cylinders.
