HDFC Bank Launches New Savings Accounts for Senior Citizens and Women; Check Features and Benefits
HDFC Bank has launched two new savings accounts specially designed for senior citizens and women. Called 'Max for Seniors' and 'Max for Her', these accounts offer more than just a place to keep money. They come with extra benefits such as higher returns on idle savings, insurance cover, health benefits and discounts on selected banking services.

The bank has introduced these accounts under its Premium Special Savings range to meet the different financial needs of these customer groups. Along with regular banking facilities, customers will also get access to several additional benefits that could help them save more and receive extra financial protection.
HDFC Bank New Savings Accounts Come With Auto Sweep, Insurance and Premium Banking Benefits
One of the key features common to both account variants is the Auto Sweep facility, which allows customers to earn higher returns on surplus funds parked in their savings account.

Under this feature, balances above a specified limit are automatically transferred into a fixed deposit, enabling customers to earn fixed deposit interest while still maintaining easy access to their money whenever required. This allows idle funds to generate potentially higher returns without compromising liquidity.
Both accounts also include a debit card-linked personal accidental death insurance cover of up to Rs 3.19 crore, making insurance protection an integral part of the overall banking package. However, the bank has indicated that the benefit will remain subject to applicable eligibility conditions, policy terms and debit card usage requirements.
HDFC Bank Max for Seniors: Key Features for Elderly Customers
The Max for Seniors savings account has been designed specifically for senior citizens, with a strong focus on financial security, convenience and long-term savings.
Among its notable benefits is cyber fraud insurance cover of up to Rs 25,000, offering an additional layer of protection against digital banking frauds and online financial scams. With cyber fraud incidents becoming increasingly common, the feature aims to provide greater confidence to elderly customers using digital banking services.
The account also provides doorstep banking services, allowing eligible customers to complete select banking transactions without visiting a branch. This facility is expected to benefit senior citizens who may face mobility challenges or prefer banking from home.
Another attractive feature is an additional 0.50% interest on fixed deposits, over and above the preferential FD rates already available to senior citizens. Customers maintaining fixed deposits with the bank could therefore earn improved returns, depending on the deposit tenure and applicable interest rates.
HDFC Bank is also waiving the first year's annual maintenance charge on Demat accounts for customers opening the Max for Seniors account, providing added value for investors who hold securities in electronic form.
HDFC Bank Max for Her: Health, Protection and Lifestyle Benefits
The Max for Her savings account has been introduced to address the financial and lifestyle requirements of women customers by combining everyday banking with health and protection-related benefits.
The account offers a complimentary health check-up, enabling customers to access preventive healthcare services as part of their banking relationship. Details regarding the health package and participating healthcare partners will be available through the bank.
In addition, the account provides an accidental death insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh, adding another layer of financial protection alongside the debit card-linked insurance benefits available under the broader account offering.
Women customers will also receive a 50% concession on locker charges, making the account particularly attractive for those seeking secure storage for jewellery, important documents or other valuables. Locker availability, however, will continue to depend on individual branch capacity and prevailing banking guidelines.
