HSBC Premier Credit Card Gets A Makeover; Here's All You Need To Know About New Features

HSBC India has given a significant facelift to its HSBC Premier Credit Card In to elevate its standing in the credit card market. Previously overshadowed by competitors, the revamped card now boasts an array of upgraded features, benefits, and even a sleek metal design, making it a notable contender in the premium credit card segment.

While the HSBC Premier Credit Card has been in existence for a while, recent enhancements have made it a more attractive option for those seeking a premium experience. The card doesn't just focus on rewards; it goes beyond, offering a range of travel, dining, and lifestyle perks. From complimentary airport lounge access to free golf sessions, the card is tailored for those who appreciate the finer things in life.

To be eligible for the HSBC Premier program in India, potential cardholders must meet specific criteria. This includes maintaining a quarterly Total Relationship Balance (TRB) of Rs 40 lakhs, holding a mortgage relationship with a disbursal of Rs 1.15 crore or more, or having a corporate salary account with a net monthly salary credit of Rs 3 lakhs or more through the HSBC Corporate Employee Program. Failure to meet these criteria may result in a quarterly service charge, underlining the exclusivity of the Premier program.

The exclusivity comes at a price. The HSBC Premier Credit Card carries a joining fee of Rs 12,000 along with GST and an annual fee and renewal charge of Rs 20,000. However, these fees are waived for customers who qualify as Premier customers. The card offers a competitive advantage in foreign transactions, with a lower markup fee of just 0.99% on transactions made in foreign currency.

The HSBC Premier Credit Card comes with an impressive welcome benefit, including complimentary memberships to Taj Epicure and EazyDiner, Taj gift vouchers worth Rs 12,000, and more. Cardholders earn 3 Reward Points for every Rs 100 spent, with no expiry date on these points. Movie buffs can enjoy a weekly Buy One Get One (BOGO) offer on movie tickets through BookMyShow, and dining enthusiasts can avail of a 30% discount on their bill with EazyDiner (up to Rs 1,250).

One of the standout features of the HSBC Premier Credit Card is the complimentary unlimited access to both domestic and international airport lounges. Add-on cardholders also receive 8 complimentary visits to international airport lounges annually. The Priority Pass guest access feature is particularly beneficial, allowing cardholders to extend lounge benefits to family or companions during travels.

While not directly associated with the Premier Credit Card, the HSBC Premier Account offers additional value through golf benefits, expanding the perks available to Premier customers.

The card provides flexibility in rewards redemption, allowing cardholders to convert points into Air Miles or Imagine vouchers for purchasing the latest Apple products. The points earned on the card have no expiry date, providing users with the freedom to choose when and how to use their rewards.

The HSBC Premier Credit Card, exclusive to Premier Relationship members, stands out for its complimentary nature for Premier customers. With a reasonable reward rate and a plethora of sub-premium benefits, it presents a compelling choice for those already part of the bank's Premier program. While direct comparisons with similar cards might not do justice due to its exclusive nature, for Premier customers, this card adds significant value to their banking perks.
