Income Tax Calendar July 2026: Complete List of ITR, TDS, TCS Filing Dates; All Important Deadlines This Month
If you are a salaried employee, business owner or tax deductor, July 2026 is a month you cannot afford to ignore. A series of important income tax deadlines-including TDS deposits, TCS compliance, quarterly filings and ITR submission-are scheduled throughout the month, making timely tax planning essential.
Income Tax Calendar July 2026: Important ITR, TDS, TCS and Tax Filing Deadlines
The Income Tax Department has scheduled key compliance dates on July 7, July 15, July 30 and July 31. Failing to meet these deadlines could result in interest charges, late filing fees, penalties and delays in the reflection of tax credits. For salaried individuals and other taxpayers not covered under tax audit provisions, July 31 remains the most crucial deadline for filing their income tax returns.

Income Tax Deadline on July 7: Deposit TDS and TCS for June
The first major compliance date falls on July 7, when employers, companies, partnership firms and other deductors must deposit the Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) collected during June 2026.
The requirement applies to tax deducted from salaries, rent, professional fees, contractor payments, commission, brokerage, interest income and other transactions covered under the Income Tax Act.
Apart from tax payments, certain declaration-related compliances are also due on July 7. Eligible declarations received for lower or nil TCS as well as specified declaration forms received during the June quarter must be uploaded within the prescribed timeline.
TDS Certificates and Quarterly Reporting Due on July 15
The next important compliance date arrives on July 15, when several reporting requirements become applicable across different categories of taxpayers.
Deductors must issue the prescribed TDS certificates relating to specified taxes deducted during May 2026. These certificates play an important role in enabling taxpayers to claim accurate tax credit while filing their Income Tax Returns.
The deadline also applies to authorised dealers reporting overseas remittances, eligible International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) units and entities handling specified foreign investment-related transactions.
July 30: Challan-cum-Statement Filing Deadline
Another important compliance date falls on July 30, when taxpayers covered under the relevant provisions of the Income Tax Act must furnish the prescribed challan-cum-statement relating to taxes deducted during June.
Since this filing combines tax payment as well as reporting details, businesses should carefully verify deductee information, challan references and applicable tax provisions before submission. Incorrect reporting may affect the recipient's tax credit and could require subsequent correction statements.
July 31: Biggest Tax Deadline of the Month
The busiest day on the July tax calendar will be July 31, with multiple quarterly statements and return filings becoming due simultaneously.
Employers deducting tax from employee salaries will have to file their quarterly salary TDS statements for the April-June period. Businesses deducting tax on payments such as professional fees, rent, commission, brokerage and contractor payments must also submit their respective quarterly TDS returns before the deadline.
Similarly, taxes deducted on payments made to non-residents and quarterly TCS returns must also be filed by July 31.
ITR Filing Deadline for Salaried Individuals on July 31
For millions of taxpayers, July 31, 2026 is the due date for filing the Income Tax Return (ITR) if their accounts are not liable for audit and transfer pricing provisions are not applicable.
The deadline generally covers salaried employees, pensioners, individuals earning income from house property and several small taxpayers outside the mandatory audit framework.
Before filing their return, taxpayers should verify their Form 26AS, Annual Information Statement (AIS), salary details, bank interest, capital gains, tax deducted and eligible deductions to reduce the possibility of notices or delays in return processing.
Important Forms Taxpayers Should Not Ignore
Individuals planning to claim certain deductions or tax reliefs should ensure that the prescribed forms are submitted before filing their Income Tax Returns.
These include Form 10E for relief on salary arrears, Form 10BA for deduction under Section 80GG, Form 10-IA for disability-related deductions and Form 10-EE for specified foreign retirement benefit claims wherever applicable.
