Indane, HP, Bharat Gas Rates To Fall From July 1 After US-Iran Deal? Know LPG Rules & LPG Prices Hike
The focus has once again shifted to LPG prices in India as the US and Iran decide to sign a peace agreement. The deal includes reopening the Strait of Hormuz, which was shut for nearly three months, escalating the global energy crisis and major supply shortages for LPG cylinders in India. Oil marketing companies have been pushed to hike LPG prices due to the West Asia tensions. But with the signs of de-escalation, could LPG prices fall ahead?
OMCs like Indian Oil, BPCL and HPCL revise their LPG prices at the start of every month. Since the US-Iran conflict, 14.2 Kg LPG prices have been hiked twice in less than four months, while 19 Kg LPG prices took the worst hit and soared to a record high of over Rs 3,000 per cylinder. The next revision in Indane Gas, Bharat Gas and HP Gas brands of LPG cylinders is expected on July 1, 2026.

US-Iran Peace Agreement Explained:
The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi confirmed that the text of peace agreement has been finalized and it will be signed on June 19th in Geneva, Switzerland. He called the agreement as a "permanent and immediate end to the war" on all fronts.
US President Donald Trump has fully authorized the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and immediate removal of US Naval blockade. He said, "Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!"
Meanwhile, US Vice President, JD Vance shared the details of the agreement. He said, Strait of Hormuz will be reopened and hold a commitment that Iran will never develop or procure a nuclear weapon. The Islamic regime will undergo a verification process to ensure the deal is followed, upon which US will lift sanctions on Tehran.
Vance also said that USA is committed to destroying and disposing of all of Iran's stockpile of highly enriched material.
However, the two countries have called this deal tentative.
Another front of war continues in West Asia despite US-Iran peace agreement. Israel has firmly said their defence force will not withdraw from the land seized in Lebanon. Also, the US-Iran deal has given 60-days timeframe to find an ultimate solution to Iran's enriched uranium and nuclear program.

Will Indane Gas, HP Gas & Bharat Gas Prices Change From July 1?
Sharing his views on the de-escalation in West Asia to GoodReturns, Dr. Manoranjan Sharma, Chief Economist, Infomerics Ratings, said, the cessation of hostilities in West Asia could ease pressure on global LPG and energy markets, creating scope for lower domestic cooking-gas prices.
However, Sharma pointed out that broad-based reductions are unlikely to be immediate because LPG pricing in India reflects a combination of international benchmarks, exchange-rate movements, subsidy policies, and fiscal considerations. The government has increasingly relied on targeted support, particularly for beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY), rather than universal subsidies.
"Lower global LPG prices would reduce subsidy burdens and improve fiscal flexibility, potentially enabling additional support for vulnerable households," he said.
But policymakers are likely to balance consumer relief against fiscal-consolidation objectives and competing expenditure priorities, as per the expert.
Consequently, the expert believes that future benefits may come through selective subsidies, periodic price adjustments, or special support measures rather than large, across-the-board reductions for all consumers.
