Indane, HP Gas, Bharat Gas Major Rules To End August 31: E-KYC Deadline To LPG Prices - Big Changes To Know

Two major rules for Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas are expected to end on August 31, 2026. Firstly, the deadline for LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication has been extended to August 31 from August 23. Meanwhile, the current LPG prices will be revised from next month, and hence, the commercial and domestic rates that you pay in August will end. Here's what LPG users should know.

Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline Extended To August 31, 2026:

As per reports, oil marketing companies have extended the e-KYC deadline for Indane Gas, HP Gas, and Bharat Gas to August 31st from the earlier August 23rd. OMCs have warned LPG dealers that there will be no further extension in the Aadhaar-based e-KYC deadline from August 31.

LPG distributors reportedly have directed customers to not wait for the final day for completing their e-KYC or else they could face difficulties in their LPG services.

If the August 31st deadline will be missed, then existing LPG customers could either face temporary suspension or will have to pay commercial rates for their 14.2 kg domestic LPG cylinders.

According to reports, OMCs have warned that existing customers who failed to complete e-KYC will no longer be able to buy domestic LPG cylinders at the consumer rate. They will fall under the free-trade category and would have to pay a higher amount for their domestic LPG cylinders until the e-KYC is completed.

Will New Gas Cylinder Connections Be Impacted If August 31st Deadline Missed?

No! Officials have clarified that the process of uploading e-KYC will not entirely end on August 31. It will still be continued for new domestic LPG consumers, as it is one of the vital processes of verification to get their cooking gas connection.

Impact For Missing E-KYC Deadline?

Firstly, the existing customers' LPG connections could get temporarily suspended until e-KYC is completed. So for a temporary period, customers would likely not be able to book or refill their existing LPGs. Their LPG connection ID will also get inactive.

Second, if the LPG connection is not cut, then there is a possibility of paying commercial prices for LPG cylinders until the e-KYC process is not completed.

To put in perspective, currently, the 14.2 Kg domestic LPG cylinder is priced at Rs 942 in Delhi. If e-KYC deadline missed, the customer might have to pay commercial price of Rs 2,738 for 14.2Kg cylinder in Delhi, which is usually priced on 19Kg commercial cooking gas.

The 14.2 kg cylinders are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed, while the 19 kg cylinders are used for industrial and commercial purposes such as restaurants, big eateries, or other major categories.

How To Complete E-KYC In 5 Minutes?

Step 1: The first step is to download the relevant mobile applications required to complete LPG biometric Aadhaar authentications. These apps include IndianOil One app, AadhaarFaceRD, Hello BPCL and lastly HP Pay app.

If use Indane Gas, then you should download IndianOil One mobile app. For Bharat Gas LPG cylinders, the main app is Hello BPCL and for HP Gas, download HP Pay. AadhaarFaceRD app is for all LPGs.

Step 2: Once the relevant app is downland, the next process is to register yourself. You must add your registered mobile number or email address that you have linked with your LPG connection to register. A one-time password will be sent to your mobile or email ID to login. You can set-up your own password once registered.

After this process, just log in to the app.

Step 3: The next process is face authentication. For Indane Gas, you will have to link your 16-digit LPG ID and then click on "My Profile" option on the home screen.

For Bharat Gas e-KYC, you will find the option directly on the homepage. However, after tapping on e-KYC, you will be directed to a new page where you will be required to enter OTP verification. A six-number OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it.

For HP Gas, you will have to first select the "MY HP" option and find e-KYC link.

A detailed instruction called "Face Authentication Advisories" or "terms and conditions" will appear. Read them carefully and give your consent to "Capture Face."

Step 4: Once consent is given, you will be directed to a new page, where the camera will be on for the front to capture your face. Once a green signal appears on the face icon, click and submit.

Just like that, the process is completed.

LPG Prices In India For August 2026 To End:

In the start of every month, oil marketing companies revise the prices of either domestic or commercial LPG cylinders depending upon the market conditions.

For August 2026, OMCs did not change the prices of domestic LPG cylinders. Accordingly, a 14.2 kg LPG cylinder continues to be priced at Rs 942 in Delhi, at Rs 968 in Kolkata, at Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and Rs 957.50 per cylinder in Chennai.

However, for August, OMCs cut commercial LPG cylinder prices for the second consecutive month.

This month, in Delhi, the commercial LPG price dropped by Rs 192 to Rs 2,738, while in Mumbai, the price dipped by Rs 194 to Rs 2,691.50 per cylinder. In Kolkata, LPG is down by Rs 209 to Rs 2,872.50 and in Chennai, 19 Kg cylinder price is lower by Rs 200 to Rs 2,906 per cylinder.

Hence, these LPG rates could be revised from September 1, 2026.
