According to statistics from the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), in the month of September 2021, Sectoral/Thematic Funds saw a high positive inflow of Rs 2,618.27 Cr among Growth/Equity Oriented funds. The high-risk equity sectoral or thematic funds invest mostly in stocks of companies in the financial, services, power, construction, capital goods, automobile, healthcare, metals, and other equity sectors. As of September 30, 2021, these funds had a total portfolio of Rs 99,03,316, repurchase and redemption worth of Rs 3,861.67 Cr, a mobilized funds value of Rs 6,479.94 Cr, a net Asset Under Management (AUM) of Rs 1,36,722.55 Cr, and an average net Assets Under Management (AUM) of Rs 1,34,902.43 Cr.

 

As a result of this, infrastructure funds have generated massive returns in the last year, with the majority of the funds having a five-star rating from Value Research. These funds can be a smart bet in the current market rise for investors who have a high-risk tolerance capacity and wish to invest for the long term, i.e. more than 5 to 6 years, as the risk is significantly minimized if you do not have short term objectives. As a consequence, here are the three infrastructure mutual funds that have returned more than 100% in the last year, with some of them having ratings of 3 to 5 stars from major rating authorities.

A minimum Systematic Investment Plan (SIP) in this fund can be initiated with Rs 1000 and the fund imposes an exit load of 0.50 percent if purchased units are redeemed within 3 months of the investment date.

The fund has the major equity allocation across Energy, Construction, Financial, Metals, Communication sectors. National Thermal Power Corp. Ltd., Oil & Natural Gas Corpn. Ltd., Bharti Airtel Ltd., Larsen & Toubro Ltd., and Axis Bank Ltd. are the fund's top five holdings. The fund's expense ratio is 1.74 percent, which is higher than most other funds in the infrastructure category.
