The last few years have seen good interest from investors, who have increasingly moved money from fixed interest bearing instruments to mutual funds. In fact, SIP inflows into mutual funds continue to remain strong. Here are a list of 9 mutual fund schemes that are ranked no 1 by Crisil. We have only considered largecaps, flexicaps and ELSS for the purpose. In fact, small caps, midcap mutual fund schemes etc., have been excluded.
| Scheme name | Type | Ranking |
|---|---|---|
| HDFC Flexi Cap Fund | Flexi Cap | No 1 |
| JM Flexi Cap Fund | Flexi Cap | No 1 |
| Franklin India Flexi Cap Fund | Flexi Cap | No 1 |
| Nippon India Largecap Fund | Large Cap | No 1 |
| HDFC Top 100 | Large Cap | No 1 |
| ICICI Prudential Bluechip | Large Cap | No 1 |
| Quant Tax Plan | ELSS | No 1 |

| HDFC Tax Saver | ELSS | No 1 |

We would like to inform our readers that we have just highlighted the schemes that are No 1 and are not suggesting to invest, hold or to sell the units. We have not done any analysis and the above rankings are based on the CRISIL rankings for which the agency would have its own parameters. What we can advise investors at the moment is that the Sensex this week has hit a new historic high and investors in equity mutual fund units have made good money. Having said that, investing through the lumpsum route when markets are trading very high can be a little risky. A better option would be to use the Systematic Investment Plan route where investors can average costs. Overall, investors over the last 3-5 years have made very good returns in the markets and the present stock market momentum looks strong.
