On the monthly expiry day, Nifty closed on a bullish note but failed to close above its previous day's closing level. In Thursday's session, Nifty saw a nearly 1% gap-down opening in intraday and formed a bullish candlestick pattern at the daily timeframe, exactly at its 20-day EMA, which acts as a dip buying opportunity in an uptrend. In the last session, many companies announced their quarterly results where Adani Green reported the highest growth of 79%. As a result, the company's stock was up nearly 6% intraday.
As per V.L.A. Ambala, a Research Analyst (SEBI Registered), Co-founder - Stock Market Today (SMT), however, it was a mixed day in the market, sectors like Media, Energy, Pharma, Infrastructure, and Auto closed on a positive note while others ended on a negative note. In the auto sector, Tata Motors, the leading stock in this sector, rose more than 6% intraday. Meanwhile, gold futures fell more than 7% in three trading sessions after import duties on gold were reduced in the budget. Amid these, the volatility indicator, India VIX, surged 7.31%. The index is expected to cool down soon, creating fresh buying opportunities.
