Sensex Rises Over 900 Points In Morning Trade, IT Stocks Jump, Rupee Gains Too

Benchmark BSE Sensex gained 1.57% and Nifty surged by 0.82% on Monday on strong global cues. Sensex surged by 942 points to 60,843 while Nifty 50 jumped 267 points to 18,126 till 11:24 am.

IT stock registered a jump in morning trade as shares of HCL Technologies, Infosys, and Coforge gained over 2% in morning trade. Shares of Tata Group stock TCS surged over 3%, Tech Mahindra, and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd gained over 3% in morning trade.

Nifty Midcap gained 286 points in morning trade to 31,706 while Nifty Bank soared over 474 points to 42,662.

Meanwhile, Tata Group stock, Titan Company registered a dip of 1.67% and trading at 2495 apiece.

It is worth noting that rupee too gained sharply in the morning trade against US Dollar. Rupee opened 40 paise higher at Rs 82.32 on Monday, as per Bloomberg data. It is important to note that this is the strongest gain by rupee since December 1, 2022.
