This fund is rated 4-Star by Value Research and has its money invested primarily in small cap of as much as 57%, while some portion is also deployed into the mid-cap stocks. Top stocks in the fund portfolio include Sheela Foam, Vedant Fashions, Elgi Equipments, Blue Star, Fine Organic etc. In all 48 stocks are included in the fund's portfolio, of which top 10 stocks make up for 33% of the total fund holdings.

Over a 10-year period, annualised SIP returns from the fund has been at 22.97%. Rs. 10000 monthly SIP in SBI Small Cap started 10 years ago is now worth Rs.39.93 lakhs. Minimum SIP in the scheme could be started for Rs. 500.

This fund from the house of Nippon India Mutual fund has been accorded 4-Star rating by both CRISIL and Value Research. As on May 13, the fund commands an NAV of Rs. 76.86. The funds' corpus is primarily invested in small cap stocks to the tune of 69.6%. Top 10 stocks in its portfolio include Tube Investments, CreditAccess, NIIT, Magma Fincorp, KPIT, Deepak Nitrite, Navin Flourine etc. Top 10 stocks in the funds' portfolio constitute just over 22% of the portfolio holdings. The fund barely has any debt or cash holdings.

10-year annualised SIP returns of the fund is at 22.62%. Minimum SIP investment value in the fund is Rs. 100 i.e. you can start SIP in this top equity scheme based on 10-year SIP returns with a monthly outlay of just Rs. 100. Rs. 10000 monthly SIP in the fund has grown in value to Rs. 39.22 lakhs.

The fund's investments are highly concentrated around large caps stocks with over 50% allocation and over 20% and 15% in mid and small cap stocks, respectively. On a 1-year basis, the fund against its benchmark Nifty 500 TRI has yielded a higher return of 10.96%.

Top stocks in this ELSS plan are Adani Enterprises, Vedanta, Ruchi Soya, Adani Ports, SBI, ICICI Bank, ITC, Coal India among others. Sectorally, the fund's corpus is most deployed in services followed by financial, healthcare, consumer staples among others. SIP in the fund could be started for barely Rs. 500.

Remember here being an ELSS plan, there is a lock in of 3 years i.e. you cannot redeem funds from the scheme before 3 years completion.
