Leaving Job? Here's How To Use Form 10C To Withdraw EPS Funds Or Get Scheme Certificate
Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is one of the most trusted retirement savings schemes for salaried employees. Out of the employer's 12% contribution, 8.33% is allocated to the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS). While this amount is primarily meant to provide financial security after retirement, it can also be accessed under certain circumstances, such as prolonged unemployment, medical emergencies, or other eligible situations. To claim EPS-related benefits while maintaining membership in the pension scheme, employees are required to submit Form 10C.

What Is Form 10C? When Should You Use It?
Form 10C is used to claim benefits under the Employee Pension Scheme (EPS) when an employee leaves a job or changes employers. It can be used in the following situations:
1. Withdrawal of EPS Balance
If you have worked for less than 10 years and are leaving your job, you can use Form 10C to withdraw the pension amount accumulated under the EPS.
2. Obtaining a Scheme Certificate
If you do not wish to withdraw your EPS balance and plan to continue your pension benefits with a future employer, you can apply for a Scheme Certificate through Form 10C. This certificate helps preserve your pensionable service and benefits for future use.
