LPG Cylinder, PNG, Petrol, Diesel, Aadhaar, and Credit Card Rules: Key Changes Kicking Off From July 1
Key Changes Kicking Off From July 1: Several household and banking-related changes are expected to take effect from July 1, 2026, and these changes can directly impact common people in terms of how they spend their money, make transactions, etc.
Key Changes Coming Into Effect From July 1
The price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) cylinders and aviation turbine fuel (ATF) is also expected to be reviewed on July 1.Additionally, certain changes related to credit card transactions and Aadhaar update will also come into effect on July 1.
Free Aadhaar Email Update From July 2026
The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has announced that Aadhaar holders will be able to update their email address for free between July and December 2026. The free service will be available from July 1 onwards. At present, Aadhaar card holders are required to pay Rs 75 to update their email address.
Email ID update on Aadhaar can be beneficial for Aadhaar-based authentication, digital services, and availing government benefit platforms and financial services easily.
While mobile numbers often receive most one-time passwords, email remains relevant for alerts, records and service communication.
Aadhaar holders should still ensure that any update is done only through official UIDAI channels or authorised Aadhaar service centres. Users should avoid sharing Aadhaar numbers, OTPs or personal documents with unverified agents.
LPG Cylinder Price Review
Commercial and domestic LPG gas cylinder prices are reviewed on a monthly basis. The LPG gas cylinder prices surged over the past few months amid the West Asia crisis. With the Iran-US peace deal signed and de-escalation of war, Indian consumers will closely watch any development related to domestic and commercial LPG gas cylinder prices.
Consumers should check the applicable rate in their city after the monthly revision is announced. LPG prices vary by location due to taxes, transportation costs and distributor-level factors. Those booking cylinders through apps or online platforms should verify the billed amount before payment, especially if a revision is announced on the first day of the month.
ATF Prices
Apart from LPG Gas cylinder prices review, the first day of every month also marks review of aviation turbine fuel (ATF) price. In some situation, CNG and PNG rates are also revised.
Last month, prices of these fuels were revised upward, according to the available update. If July brings another increase, transport operators and frequent commuters could feel the impact first. Higher CNG costs may influence taxi and auto fares over time, depending on local transport rules and market conditions. PNG revisions can affect monthly household utility bills.
HDFC Bank Regalia Gold Credit Card Lounge Rules
HDFC Bank Regalia Gold credit card holders can also see some changes in July. The card holders would be required to meet a quarterly spending condition to continue receiving complimentary domestic airport lounge access. As per the new credit card rule, card holders would must spend around Rs 60,000 in a quarter to enjoy free lounge access in the following quarter.

The change reflects a wider trend among banks and card issuers in India. Complimentary airport lounge access has become expensive for issuers because of heavy usage and rising demand at airports. Several banks have moved towards spend-based eligibility, limiting lounge benefits to customers who actively use their cards for regular transactions.
