LPG e-KYC Deadline Alert: Millions of LPG Users May Lose Subsidy Without Aadhaar e-KYC; Check How to Complete

LPG users in India now just have 15 days to complete their LPG eKYC before the deadline arrives or they may lose their LPG subsidy benefits.

The latest LPG news is now very important for customers of Indane, BharatGas, and HP Gas, as the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has begun a drive to verify genuine LPG consumers through Aadhaar-based authentication.

LPG e-KYC Deadline A

LPG eKYC Deadline: What Happens If You Miss It?

Under the new LPG eKYC rules 2026, consumers who fail to complete LPG Aadhaar biometric authentication before June 30 may stop receiving LPG subsidy amounts directly into their bank accounts.

This means Indane Gas, Bharat Gas, and HP Gas customers can continue LPG gas cylinder booking and receive cylinder deliveries. However, they may have to pay the full LPG cylinder price without receiving subsidy refunds.

The LPG eKYC Aadhaar biometric authentication deadline applies to subsidy beneficiaries, including households covered under PMUY or the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

The Union Petroleum Ministry clarified that e-KYC is not mandatory for all LPG consumers, only for-

  • PMUY beneficiaries who must do it annually.
  • Non-PMUY users who haven't completed e-KYC yet

For those who have already completed e-KYC in this financial year and are not a PMUY beneficiary, need not to repeat it.

Will Your LPG Connection Be Cut Off After June 30

As of now, there is no official indication that LPG gas connections will be terminated for consumers who miss the deadline.

However, if you miss the LPG eKYC deadline of June 30 it may stop subsidy payments under the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) scheme, but it will not lead to immediate cancellation of LPG gas connections.

The impact is expected to be on LPG subsidy eligibility rather than LPG cylinder availability or domestic gas supply.
