LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC Deadline: Avoid Long Queues! How To Complete Indane, HP, Bharat Gas E-KYC In 5 Minutes
Due to long queues and technical glitches for LPG biometric Aadhaar authentication, oil marketing companies (OMCs) have extended the deadline for e-KYC by August 23 from earlier August 16. Indian households can complete their e-KYC using either the offline or online method. For failing to complete your e-KYC, your LPG cylinder prices, refilling, and connection will be significantly impacted.
However, instead of standing in long queues at LPG distributors or agencies, you can complete your e-KYC at the comfort of your home in just a few clicks and swipes of your phone. The entire process is so easy; it will only take less than 5 minutes. It needs to be noted that LPG gas cylinder e-KYC is made compulsory for all households since the US-Israel-Iran war that impacted global oil and gas supply at the Strait of Hormuz.

How To Complete LPG Gas Cylinder E-KYC In 5 Minutes?
Step 1: Download The Relevant Apps
The first step is to download the relevant mobile applications required to complete LPG biometric Aadhaar authentications. These apps include IndianOil One app, AadhaarFaceRD, Hello BPCL and lastly HP Pay app.
If use Indane Gas, then you should download IndianOil One mobile app. For Bharat Gas LPG cylinders, the main app is Hello BPCL and for HP Gas, download HP Pay. AadhaarFaceRD app is for all LPGs.
Step 2: Register & Login
Once the relevant app is downland, the next process is to register yourself. You must add your registered mobile number or email address that you have linked with your LPG connection to register. A one-time password will be sent to your mobile or email ID to login. You can set-up your own password once registered.
After this process, just log in to the app.
Step 3: Select Face Authentication Process
For Indane Gas, you will have to link your 16-digit LPG ID and then click on "My Profile" option on the home screen.
For Bharat Gas e-KYC, you will find the option directly on the homepage. However, after tapping on e-KYC, you will be directed to a new page where you will be required to enter OTP verification. A six-number OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number. Enter it.
For HP Gas, you will have to first select the "MY HP" option and find e-KYC link.
A detailed instruction called "Face Authentication Advisories" or "terms and conditions" will appear. Read them carefully and give your consent to "Capture Face."
Step 4: Scan Face And Complete E-KYC
Once consent is given, you will be directed to a new page, where the camera will be on for the front to capture your face. Once a green signal appears on the face icon, click and submit.
Just like that, the process is completed.
What Happens If You Miss Your August 23 Deadline For LPG E-KYC?
Some OMCs will suspend your LPG connection account temporarily until you complete the e-KYC process. However, customers will also loose the benefit of buying LPG at domestic or subsidized rates. As per reports, they will have to pay commercial rates for their domestic Indane Gas, HP Gas and Bharat Gas Cylinders.
Here's how LPG rates will change if e-KYC will not be completed:
At present, the market price for domestic Indane Gas LPG cylinders in 14.2 Kg is at Rs 942 in Delhi, at Rs 968 in Kolkata, Rs 941.50 in Mumbai, and at Rs 957.50 per cylinder in Chennai.
However, the commercial rates for LPG cylinders in August is at Rs 2,738 in Delhi, at Rs 2,691.50 in Mumbai, at RS 2,872.50 in Kolkata, and at Rs 2,906 in Chennai.
So if you become ineligible for domestic rates on LPGs due to missing e-KYC and if commercial rates are applied, then you are paying Rs 1,796 extra on domestic LPG in Delhi (Rs 2,738 - Rs 942). The same impact could be seen across states.
