LPG, PNG, and CNG prices in India have witnessed a significant shift in September 2026 due to elevated crude oil prices and uncertainties at the Strait of Hormuz. On September 10th, Brent crude oil price neared $101 level, which is not a good sign for petroleum products. Crude oil is among the major components that oil marketing companies observe while deciding prices of LPG and PNG which are two main cooking gas options for Indian households, while CNG is heavily used in vehicles. LPG Prices In India Today, September 10, 2026

Today, 14.2 Kg LPG price stood cheapest at Rs 939.50 per cylinder in Noida but most expensive in Patna to Rs 1,031.50 per cylinder. In Delhi, the domestic LPG cylinder is priced at Rs 942, while the rates are at Rs 968 in Kolkata, at Rs 941.50 in Mumbai and at Rs 957.50 in Chennai. In Bangalore, the domestic cylinder is available at Rs 944.50. Notably, 14.2 Kg LPG gas cylinder prices have remained unchanged since June 7, 2026.

Meanwhile, in Delhi, the 19 Kg commercial LPG cylinder is available at Rs 2,747.50 per cylinder, while the rate is at Rs 2,884 in Kolkata. In Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore, 19 Kg LPG prices stood at Rs 2,701, Rs 2,916.50 and Rs 2,831 per cylinder. The 19 Kg LPG is expensive in Patna at Rs 3,029 per cylinder.

The 19 Kg prices are unchanged on Thursday, since Rs 9.50 - Rs 11.50 hike imposed on September 1, 2026.

There are three popularly used LPG cylinder sizes: 5 kg, 14.2 kg, and 19 kg. Currently, a 5 Kg gas cylinder is widely used by migrants, students and citizens who are renting but lack permanent residence.

Then comes 14.2 Kg LPG cylinders, which are largely meant for domestic use and comprise almost 90% of all gas distributed, as per the Indian Oil website. Indian households use this cylinder type.

Then there are 19 Kg LPG cylinders, which are meant for industrial and commercial consumption. Also, 47.5 kg and 425 kg Jumbo cylinders are used by industries for commercial purposes. These commercial consumptions include eateries, hotels, restaurants, malls, food stalls and small-scale industries, as they require high consumption for cooking and heating needs.

CNG Prices In India Today

In cities like Delhi, Mumbai and Meerut, CNG prices are hiked by up to Rs 2 per KG. On Wednesday, CNG stood at Rs 86.98 per kg in Delhi, at Rs 88 in Mumbai, at Rs 97 each in Chennai and Bangalore. The most expensive CNG is priced in Hyderabad to Rs 112 per Kg followed by Rs 100 rate in Mathura and at Rs 99 in Firozabad.
