MAadhaar App Discontinued Details: The Unique Identification Authority of India has discontinued the mAadhaar application from 30 June. Which means that Aadhaar holder won't be able to use the application from Wednesday (July 1) onwards. The change affects Aadhaar number holders who use the mobile application to download e-Aadhaar, update details, share identity credentials or track service requests.
The old mAadhaar app has become inoperable and the new Aadhaar application is available for Indians. UIDAI announced the transition through its official X handle on June 29. The new app is positioned as a more privacy-focused platform, with paperless verification and selective sharing of Aadhaar details through QR-based tools. Aadhaar users can now download their e-Aadhaar, book appointments at Aadhaar Seva Kendras, track update requests and use QR-based verification. The app also allows selective sharing of Aadhaar credentials, which means that you don't have to reveal full Aadhaar details.
UIDAI has said the new app crossed 31 million downloads in less than five months from launch, as of 22 June. A government update also stated that nearly 40 lakh users had updated their mobile numbers through the app. Around 8.5 lakh users had used it for address updates.
How To Register and Download Aadhaar?
-Go to the Play Store, download and install the Aadhaar application. Now select the preferred language, enter the Aadhaar number and accept the terms and conditions.
-Now choose the mobile SIM linked to the application.
- Now complete the face authentication and set a six-digit PIN.
-You can use the PIN for secure login after registration.
Mobile number update through the app depends on the user's existing Aadhaar-linked number. If the mobile number used in the app is the same as the number already linked with Aadhaar, the user can verify the new number through OTP, complete face authentication and pay the prescribed fee.
