For instance when it comes to opening a salary account with a bank with which your corporate employer shares a relation in a general case allows the salary account holder to maintain his or her account at a bank branch closest to his place of residence or there can also be a case when the bank maintains the salary account of a particular employer account at only one of the branch premises if the employer happens to be a not so large entity.

Also, there can be a case in which you maintained an earlier salary with the same designated bank as per your new employer. But in this case also you need to a some bit of formality to keep both the banker and employer updated.

There are ample ways to keep the bank updated and need an ID and employee-employer relationship proof which can also be furnished via e-mail.

And not diverting from the main topic, the corporate needs to provide a letter that the concerned new employee is a resident of this locality and needs to open a salary account with your bank or as the bank may approve. In the recent case as per experience, as against the earlier media news that new account were allowed to be opened without aadhaar but with enrolment slip for the same. The bank's are not accepting the enrolment number and are instead insisting on the aadhaar number.

Also, it is suggested to close the previous salary account in case your new employer ask it to maintain it in a different bank.
