PM Kisan 23rd Installment Released: Which Farmers Eligible To Get Rs 2,000? How To Check Beneficiary Status?

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has released the 23rd installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana scheme at 12:30 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026. The announcement was made from Tarakeswar, located in the Hooghly district, West Bengal. A total of 9.44 crore farmers are eligible beneficiaries of the 23rd PM Kisan installment, which includes over 2.18 crore women farmers.

PM Kisan 23rd Installment Released:

The total payout for the 23rd installment stood at Rs 18,880 crore under PM Kisan. With the latest release, the total disbursement under the scheme will exceed Rs 4.46 lakh crore, since its inception on 24th February 2019.

Also, an amount exceeding Rs 907.21 crore is transferred to over 45.35 lakh beneficiaries in West Bengal in the 23rd instalment, taking the cumulative disbursement under the scheme in the State to over Rs 15,055 crore since the launch of the scheme in 2019.

Under PM Kisan yojana, eligible farmers get Rs 2,000 each after a four-monthly gap and in total the benefit comes to around Rs 6,000 per year. The installment cycle is between April to July, August to November, and December to March.

Hence, the 23rd installment is for April to July cycle in 2026. Notably, the PM Kisan yojana scheme is implemented through Aadhaar-based authentication and digitised land records, ensuring transparent and efficient direct benefit transfer to verified beneficiaries.

Last year, PM Modi transferred the 22nd installment of PM Kisan on March 13th, 2026, for the period of the December 2025 to March 2026 cycle. The government released a total of Rs 18,640 crore under the 22nd installment, which benefited approximately 9.32 crore farmers. Of the total, 2.15 crore beneficiaries were women.

How To Get Access Of PM Kisan Yojana Beneficiary List:

Step 1: Visit https://pmkisan.gov.in/.

Step 2: Under the Farmers Corner, you will find 'Beneficiary List' option below. Click on it.

Step 3: To get access of the beneficiary list, you will be required to provide information such as your state, district, sub-district, block number and village. After doing so, click on get report.

How To Check beneficiary status of PM Kisan account?

Step 1: Visit PM Kisan website: https://pmkisan.gov.in/

Step 2: Click On 'Know Your Status' option.

Step 3: It needs to be noted that to know your status, a farmer should have registration number.

Step 4: Enter the registration number and captcha code. Then click on Get One-Time Password (OTP).

How Can Farmers Register For PM Kisan?

Step 1: Visit the official website: pmkisan.gov.in

Step 2: On the right side of the screen, in bold, it will be mentioned as 'New Farmer Registration'. Click on it!

Step 3: You will be directed to a new page, where you will be required to feed in your details.

Step 4: Firstly, you need to select between two options namely 'Rural Farmer Registration' and 'Urban Farmer Registration'.

Step 5: Then, put in details of your Aadhaar Number and Mobile Number. Your Aadhaar will be authenticated with UIDAI. You will be able to proceed with registration only if your Aadhaar is authenticated.

Step 6: Select the state you reside in. And add a captcha code.

Step 7: Once all details are added, generate a one-time password (OTP) which you will receive on your registered mobile number.

Who Is Not Eligible Under PM Kisan Yojana?

Farmers who acquired land ownership after 01-02-2019. Also, cases where more than one family member is receiving benefits (e.g., both husband and wife, an adult member and minor, etc.).

Apart from releasing the 23rd PM Kisan installment, the government also launched other farmers-related schemes.

Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY)/ Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS)

PM launched the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY) / Restructured Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme (RWBCIS) in West Bengal, extending the benefits of the world's largest crop insurance scheme to the farmers of the State.

During 2026-27, the initiative aims to provide insurance coverage to nearly 1.10 crore farmers across about 30 lakh hectares of agricultural land, protecting crops with an estimated insured value of Rs 28,140 crore while supporting farmers through substantial premium subsidy.

To keep the premium burden on farmers low, the central and state governments will provide premium subsidies of approximately Rs 777 crore.

Digital Agriculture Mission

To strengthen digitalization in agriculture, the government also launched AgriStack in West Bengal, enabling a unified digital platform for verified agriculture-related services such as fertiliser distribution, Kisan Credit Cards, Direct Benefit Transfers and procurement under the Minimum Support Price system. The initiative will strengthen digital governance in agriculture and facilitate efficient delivery of farmer-centric services.

National Mission on Natural Farming (NMNF)

The government launched National Mission on Natural Farming to promote sustainable, chemical-free agriculture rooted in traditional Indian practices. Under the approved Annual Action Plan for 2026-27, the State will establish 346 natural farming clusters covering 17,300 hectares, benefiting 43,250 farmers, while also creating Bio-Input Resource Centres and mobilising Krishi Sakhis to strengthen adoption of eco-friendly farming practices.

Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY)

In a major step towards integrated agricultural development, the Prime Minister implemented the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana (PMDDKY) in West Bengal. The scheme will cover the districts of Purulia, Darjeeling, Alipurduar and Jhargram with a focus on improving agricultural productivity, promoting crop diversification and sustainable farming, strengthening post-harvest infrastructure and irrigation facilities, enhancing access to institutional credit, and ensuring convergence of multiple Central and State schemes for holistic rural development.
