PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme: Electricity Bill Reduced To Just Rs 200 In This State; Find Out

In a major good news, Haryana citizens are provided with massive reliefs in terms of their electricity bills especially in the summer season when the consumption is more and that leads to charges being higher. Now, the state will have a new pattern of being charged for electricity usage. The Haryana CM has announced that the electricity bill will be merely Rs 200 if the consumption is from 10 units to 100 units.

Chief Minister Naib Singh Saine has scrapped the monthly minimum charge for electricity bills.

PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme

This development was announced during the launch of the Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme in Ambala.

In the event, Saini said, "From now on, residents of the state will receive bills based solely on the number of units of electricity consumed, providing much-needed relief to electricity consumers," as per PTI report.

Meanwhile, under PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme, Saini revealed that the central government will offer a Rs 60,000 subsidy for installing 2 kW rooftop solar panels. Also, the government will provide further assistance of approximately Rs50,000 to somewhat 1 lakh families in the poor class. The families that will be eligible are those with average monthly electricity consumption of about 200 units, and their annual income is up to Rs 1.80 lakh on identity cards.

Also, Saini waived off monthly electricity charge of Rs 115 per kilowatt. This means that households who have only 2 kilowatts will have the benefit of paying electricity bills only for the units they consume.
