Rs 12.5 Dividend After 1:1 Bonus Issue; BUY CDSL Stock After Q4? Axis Sec Sets Rs 1,560 TP For Next 5-15 Days

Central Depository Services (India) Limited (CDSL), a stock price listed on only NSE but backed by BSE, declined on May 5th after its Q4 consolidated net profit declined. However, among the positive factors is that CDSL has announced a final dividend for FY25, which will be the first dividend reward after CDSL turned ex-bonus in July last year. After its Q4FY25 results, on Monday, brokerage Axis Securities set a short-term target of Rs 1,560.

CDSL Share Price:

After market hours of May 5, CDSL stock closed at Rs 1,311 apiece, down by 1.3% on NSE, with a market cap of Rs 27,399.90 crore. The stock's 52-week high and low is at Rs 1,989.80 apiece and Rs 917.63 apiece respectively.

YTD, CDSL shares dropped 27.51%. On the other hand, from April 5th to May 5th of 2025, the stock rallied nearly 15%.

CDSL Q4 Results:

CDSL reported a net profit of Rs 100.39 crore in Q4FY25, declining from Rs 129.41 crore in Q4FY24 and Rs 129.80 crore in Q3FY25. Furthermore, revenue from operations also dropped to Rs 2,244.48 crore, plunging from Rs 2,407.82 crore in Q4FY24 and Rs 2,781.07 crore in Q3FY24.

However, FY25 PAT stood at Rs 526.33 crore, higher from Rs 419.55 crore in FY24. Revenue climbed to Rs 10,822 crore in the fiscal, against Rs 812.25 crore in FY24.

CDSL Dividend 2025:

On May 3rd, the company's board declared a final dividend for FY 24-25 of Rs. 12.50/- per equity share of face value of Rs. 10/- (i.e., 125 % on the face value of equity share), subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing 27th Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Company. This will be the first dividend payout after CDSL turned ex-date on August 23, 2024.

Since August 2018, CDSL has delivered 9 dividends. The company paid about Rs 22 dividend per share in last 12 months. Currently, it has a dividend yield of 0.84%.

Axis Securities on CDSL Stock:

Brokerage Axis Securities on May 5th, suggests a target price of Rs 1,560 with an entry price of Rs 1,361 and a stop loss of Rs 1,295.

The consensus recommendation from 10 analysts for Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. is HOLD, as per Trendlyne data. The average 1-year target price is at Rs 1283.90, hinting at a little over 2% potential decline ahead.
