Stocks To Watch on Oct 5: HDFC, Bajaj Finance, DMart, YES Bank, Auto Stocks and More In Focus

The stock market is going to resume trading on Monday, October 5, after a holiday on Friday for Gandhi Jayanti. Investors faced a crucial session after the Nifty 50 and Sensex extended their losing streak to eight consecutive weeks.

The Nifty ended Thursday's session 198.50 points, or 0.88%, lower at 22,421.95, while the Sensex declined 570.59 points, or 0.79%, to 71,909.70. The Nifty has now lost around 8.7% over the past eight weeks, while the Sensex has declined about 8.4%.

Stocks To Watch

"Indian benchmark indices faced severe headwinds during the week, extending their losing streak to an eighth consecutive week, the longest such run in 25 years. The NSE Nifty 50 tumbled 3.1% to settle at 22,421.95, while the BSE Sensex dropped 2.7% to close at 71,909.70. A hostile combination of global macroeconomic factors, geopolitical friction, and domestic pressure points triggered widespread selling, severely dampening market sentiment. A primary catalyst for the decline was the sharp surge in U.S. 10-year Treasury yields, which climbed to multi-year highs. Elevated risk-free returns in the United States prompted investors to reallocate capital away from high-beta emerging market equities." said Ravi Singh, Chief Research Officer from Master Capital Services Ltd.
