The stock market today opened sharply higher, defying the earlier expected Subdued open due to weak GIFT nifty signal. Both the benchmark indices opened higher today. At the opening bell the Sensex jumped 490 points 0.63% to 78,919, while the Nifty 50 added 29 points 0.22% to 24,643.

The positivity in the India indices is due to the strong global cues.Overnight the Wall Street closed at record highs were the S&P 500 was up 1.79%, Dow up 1.71%, Nasdaq surged 2.59% Meanwhile the Asian markets also rallied this morning where Nikkei jumped 3.34%, Kospi was up 4.2%

Back home, The rupee gained 49 paise against the previous day;s close of 94.89 to currently trade at 94.89 per US dollar today.
Another major trigger today is going to be the RBI MPC outcome which is expected to impact the market performance.

The company reported a 37.3% YoY jump in profit after tax to Rs. 8,167 crore for Q1FY27, due to strong growth across India and Africa operations.

BSE Ltd

India's oldest exchange reported its Q1FY27 earnings where the consolidated net profit surged 62% YoY to Rs. 872.66 crore for the June quarter; total income jumped 63% to Rs. 1,706.72 crore.

ONGC

The oil & Natural gas corporation also reported a standalone net profit rose 112% YoY to Rs. 17,034 crore in Q1FY27.

LIC

LIC's Offer for sale (OFS) has now opened for retail investors today; the retail portion was oversubscribed 3.32x on the institutional opening day.

Manipal Health Enterprises

The Manipal Health Enterprises IPO is going to make its stock market debut today. Hoevere the grey market trends indicates a flat listing.

United Breweries

The Alcobev firm reported its Q1FY27 earnings report where the consolidated net profit fell 9.64% YoY to Rs. 166.28 crore in the June quarter on higher expenses.
