Stocks to Watch Today (August 7): Britannia, LIC, Infosys, Hero MotoCorp, Coal India, Lupin in Focus
After ending higher in a volatile session on Thursday, August 6, with gains in banking and heavyweight stocks helping cover up for the weakness in metals, realty and IT counters, the market is expected to open for another day . The BSE Sensex rose 373.76 points, or 0.48%, to close at 78,954.76, while the Nifty 50 added 11.35 points, or 0.05%, to end at 24,636, holding above the 24,600 mark.
The market moved in a fairly even tone, with 2,023 stocks advancing against 2,058 declines. Reliance Industries, State Bank of India, Bharat Electronics, Eternal and Titan Company were the biggest contributors to the Nifty's gains, while Power Grid was the top loser, falling nearly 4% after its weak Q1 numbers.

As per the early trend from GIFT Nifty,the market is likely to open in negative. The Nifty futures were trading around 24,650 levels.
The main reason behind this is the weakness in the US market overnight and the early trends from the Asian market.
Wall Street closed in the negative on Thursday with the Dow Jones falling 0.85%, to 53,885.10, the S&P 500 slipped 0.18% and the Nasdaq Composite edged 0.06% lower to 26,348.35.

The FMCG major reported its Q1 FY27 earnings after market hours yesterday where it posted 8% YoY revenue growth, and management HAS a confident tone on the sustainability of this growth going forward.
LIC
The state insurer also reported its June quarter results where its Value of New Business (VNB) margin expanded sharply to 22.9% from 15.4%, and management is now targeting margins in the mid-20% range.
Interarch
The company has entered into a joint venture to expand its Open Web Steel Joists business into the US and Canadian markets.
Crompton
The company posted a strong first quarter, with both revenue and EBITDA coming in ahead of estimates, growing 12% and 14% year-on-year respectively.
Infosys
The IT major has signed a 10-year strategic agreement with footwear brand Crocs
Hero MotoCorp
The company posted a strong quarter, with EBITDA margin at 14.4%, comfortably ahead of the 13.3% estimate.
Coal India
The PUS giant has emerged as the preferred bidder for the Gadadharpur Iron Ore Block in Odisha, entering the iron ore mining business.
Lupin
The pharma major announced its Q1FY27 results, beating expectations. The Consolidated revenue from operations for Q1 FY27 came in at Rs. 8,277 crore, surging from Rs. 6,160 crore in the same period last year. The company also reported a 43% jump in US sales and 14% growth in India sales year-on-year.
