Overnight, the U.S. stock market also closed with gains even as the U.S.-Iran tensions flared again. The reason behind the rise in stocks was due to a jump in semiconductors and a fall in crude oil prices.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 0.27% higher at 52,487.41, the S&P 500 was up 0.81%, and the Nasdaq wrapped up Thursday's session 1.30% higher with maximum gains.
