Toll Plazas: From Worli Sea Link, Delhi-Gurgaon To Bengaluru-Mysuru Highways, Toll Fees Hiked By 3-25%

Travelling on expressways, highways and sea links gets even more expensive in the states of Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu from June 3, 2024, onward. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced a hike in rates of various toll plazas in the range of 3% to as high as 25%. Toll fees at some of the renowned plazas such as Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway, Mumbai-Bandra Worli Sea Link, Pune-Satara Highway, Bengaluru-Mysuru, and Bengaluru-Hyderabad highways have surged!

Here are the details:


Delhi Toll Plazas:

Delhi-Meerut Expressway: For a single trip, lightweight vehicles including cars will have to pay up to 5% higher toll now. This is approximately an increase of Rs 8.

Delhi-Gurgaon Expressway: A 4-5% hike has been announced in toll fees for all categories of vehicles.

Kherki Daula Toll Plaza: A sharp hike has been provided here for cars and jeeps, taking their toll rate to Rs 85 from June 3 onward. While buses, trucks, and multiple-axle vehicles have a toll fee of Rs 250.

Sohna Elevated Road: Toll rates have been hiked for light commercial vehicles, buses, trucks and monthly passes as well. Light commercial vehicles will have a toll of Rs 205 on a single trip.

Eastern Peripheral Expressway: About a 5% hike in toll rates is announced on this expressway.

Karnataka Toll Plazas:

NHAI has increased toll rates between 3% to 25% on various highways of Karnataka effective from June 3.

Bengaluru-Mysuru: On this highway, cars, vans and jeeps will now have to Rs 330 on a single trip compared to earlier Rs 320. Of the total, Rs 170 toll rate is levied on the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta section, and Rs 160 between Nidaghatta and Mysuru. Also, tolls will be collected in sections of Kaniminike (Bengaluru Urban), Sheshagirihalli (Ramanagara) and Gananguru (Mandya).

Bengaluru-Hyderabad: On this highway, vehicles such as cars, jeeps, vans, and light motor vehicles will have to pay Rs 115 per journey, with Rs 175 on the return journey. This is applicable for a 71.45-km section of National Highway 7 (AP/Karnataka border-Devanahalli).

NH 206: Single trip will have a toll rate of Rs 60, and Rs 90 on return for cars, jeeps, vans, and light motor vehicles.

Doddaballapur-Hoskote: A Rs 80 toll fee is imposed between Doddaballapur bypass and Hoskote on a single journey, while the return is Rs 120. Further, in the case of 50 journeys per month, the toll rate is increased to Rs 2,720 from earlier Rs 2,375 on this highway. This is applicable to cars, vans, and jeeps.

Additionally, for light commercial vehicles, the toll rate will be Rs 135 on a single trip, and Rs 200 for the return trip. The monthly pass is hiked by 14.6% to Rs 4,395 (50 journeys), from earlier Rs 3,835. Trucks and buses will pay Rs 275 on single-trip, and Rs 415 on a return, and the monthly pass is hiked to Rs 9,205.

Mumbai Toll Plazas:

Mumbai-Bandra Worli Sea Link: Cars and jeeps will have to pay about Rs 100 for a single trip. Fees have been hiked on minibuses, tempos, and two-axle trucks.

Pune-Satara Highway: Light vehicles are likely to pay Rs 120 toll rates.

Pune-Nashik Highway: Vehicles like motorbikes, jeeps and light commuters will have to pay up to Rs 105 on this highway for a single journey.

Tamil Nadu Toll Plazas:

As per reports, NHAI has hiked toll rates by Rs 5 to Rs 25 on a massive 34 toll plaza in Tamil Nadu. The fees vary from vehicle to vehicle.

In India, toll charges are revised annually, and based on the movement in inflation, especially the wholesale price index.
