West Bengal Annapurna Yojana 2026 Status Check: Find Out If You're Eligible for the Rs. 3000 Monthly DBT

The West Bengal government's newly launched Annapurna Yojana, also known as the Annapurna Bhandar Scheme, is one of the biggest women-centric welfare programmes. Introduced by CM Suvendu Adhikari in May 2026 after BJP came to power in the state, the scheme provides Rs. 3,000 per month through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) to eligible women, replacing the earlier Lakshmir Bhandar Scheme by TMC.

West Bengal Annapurna Yojana 2026

The government has already disbursed two installments to eligible beneficiaries, while verification drives have led to the removal of lakhs of ineligible or duplicate applications. Here's everything you need to know about the scheme, including how to check your application status and beneficiary list.

What Is the West Bengal Annapurna Yojana?

The Annapurna Yojana was officially notified on May 19th by the Department of Women and Child Development and Social Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

The scheme offers a flat financial assistance of Rs. 3,000 every month (Rs. 36,000 annually) to eligible women aged 25 to 60 years. The money is transferred directly into beneficiaries' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts through the DBT system.

Application Timeline

The application process for the scheme began on May 27th and will continue until August 25, 2026, giving eligible applicants a 90-day window to register.

The first DBT instalment was credited on June 3, 2026, benefiting over 28.25 lakh women.

The second instalment, released on July 1, 2026, expanded the beneficiary base to more than 1.2 crore women. The state government expects to eventually cover nearly 2 crore eligible women under the scheme.

Nearly 30 Lakh Applications Removed During Verification

As part of its verification exercise, the West Bengal government has removed around 30 lakh names from the beneficiary database.

According to the government, the deleted entries included:

Duplicate applications
Deceased beneficiaries
Individuals who had shifted out of the state
Applications flagged during verification, including citizenship-related scrutiny

The beneficiary database is being updated every seven days to ensure only eligible applicants receive benefits.
