Zoho Pay Set to Compete with Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm

Post the launch of Arattai, Zoho CEO Sridhar Vembu is now focusing on expanding into the consumer finance sector. With Zoho Pay, the company will compete head-to-head with major digital payment players like Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm. The app is currently in internal testing and is expected to be rolled out in phases across India in the coming months.

Features of Zoho Pay

Zoho Pay is designed to be a comprehensive payments solution for both peer-to-peer transfers and merchant payments. As per the official website, some key features include:

  • Multiple payment options are available for users who can make payments via UPI, debit/credit cards, RuPay, net banking, and bank transfers.
  • The app supports scheduled or recurring payments for bills and subscriptions.
  • Advanced fraud prevention mechanisms with full compliance to RBI guidelines and PCI-DSS standards.
  • It also provides customisable reports, dispute management, and faster settlements, making it suitable for both consumers and businesses.
  • Works smoothly within Zoho's SaaS ecosystem, allowing integration with other Zoho business apps for a unified experience.

Zoho Pay Pricing Structure

Zoho Pay has set a clear and transparent fee structure for its transactions. UPI payments will incur a 0.5% platform fee, while transactions through debit/credit cards, net banking, and RuPay will attract a 2% fee. For bank transfers, the platform fee will be 1% of the transaction amount or Rs. 10, whichever is lower. Transactions made via corporate credit cards will carry a 2.75% platform fee. All fees are automatically deducted from each transaction before the net amount is credited to the user's bank account.

How will Zoho Pay work inside Arattai Chat?

Zoho Pay will be tightly integrated within Arattai, which is Zoho's privacy-focused messaging app launched in September 2025. Zoho Pay in Arattai will allow users to send, receive, and request payments directly from their chat windows. Users can initiate a payment or request money right within their chat, similar to sending a message.
