LIC Q4 Results 2022: Net Profit At Rs. 2372 Cr., Dividend Of Rs. 1.5/Share

The country's largest insurer is slated to announce its quarterly results today.The company has announced a net profit of Rs. 2372 crore on a standalone basis. On a consolidated basis, the company's net profit after tax and extraordinary items is Rs. 2409 crore.

Also,the dividend declared has been at Rs. 1.5 per share."The Board of Directors, in its meeting held on 30.05.2022, have proposed dividend of Rs. 1.5 per equity share with face value of Rs.10 each for the year ended March 31, 2022, which is subject to approval of Shareholders in AGM", said the company fiiling.

The behemoth since its listing on May 17, 2022 is trading in a rangebound and last today at the time of writing this copy at around 12:52 pm is trading with marginal gain of 1 percent at Rs. 830 per share.

The company's net premium income during the quarter rose 18% to ₹1.43 lakh crore.

The company as per its recent filing with the exchange is slated to meet today for its financial results as well as dividend announcement.

There is a view that in order to compensate for the weak listing, the behemoth insurer may announce a high dividend.

"LIC did not pay any dividends in the last financial year, so there are high chances that the company might declare a good dividend this year, thus making it a good dividend play," said Santosh Meena, Head of Research, Swastika Investmart Ltd.

"We believe that LIC is a decent investment opportunity in the short to medium-term considering its strong market presence, improvement in future profitability due to the changes in surplus distribution norms and strong sector growth outlook.
