Apollo Micro Systems Expands Defence Manufacturing Campus in Hyderabad
Apollo Micro Systems Limited is expanding weapon integration facilities in Hyderabad through a new defence manufacturing campus. The project involves fresh capital expenditure, an enlarged land parcel and higher capacity for weapon systems. The move supports domestic production needs in artillery and related platforms as defence spending in India increases.
The company estimates investment at about Rs 30,000 lakhs for developing the new integrated site. The facility is planned for manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing of Weapon System Platforms. These include Grad Rockets, Anti-Submarine Warfare Rockets, Anti-Tank Mines, Artillery Munitions and other related defence products.
Apollo Micro Systems Limited is a 41-year-old defence technology company with experience across several engineering domains. The business focuses on designing, developing and producing advanced engineering, electromechanical and electronic systems for strategic customers. Multi-domain skills and established infrastructure enable development of defence technologies and their production at scale for national requirements.
As a group, AMS operates as a Tier-I Original Equipment Design Cum manufacturer with explosive capabilities. These capabilities draw on the strengths of subsidiary companies that work with explosives related systems. The organisation positions itself to supply complete solutions rather than only components, while serving long-term defence programmes in India.
For this expansion, Plot Nos. 4 and 5 at TSIIC, Hardware Park Phase II, Hyderabad, have been allotted. The plots cover 22,988 square metres and were granted to Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. at Rs 12,000 per square metre. The total land cost stands at Rs 27,58,56,000, as disclosed by the company.

According to the stock exchange disclosure, "This expansion aligns with the Company's long-term growth strategy and reinforces its commitment to enhancing indigenous manufacturing capabilities, strengthening technological innovation, and supporting the growing demand in the defence sector," said Apollo Micro Systems in a stock exchange filing.
Managing Director Mr. Karunakar Reddy highlighted how the new land links with the existing set-up. "I am pleased to share that Apollo Micro Systems Ltd. is taking a significant step forward in strengthening its manufacturing and testing facilities. This strategic investment, adjoining to our Unit 3, will expand the total facility to approximately 10.68 acres within a single campus and enable us to establish a state-of-the-art facility dedicated to the manufacturing of Weapon Systems and artillery Systems like Grad Rockets, Anti-Tank Mines, Anti-Submarine Warfare Rockets, and similar products."
Mr. Karunakar Reddy further added: "This expansion reflects our commitment to enhancing indigenous manufacturing capabilities, driving technological innovation, and meeting the growing demand in the defense sector. We are confident that this initiative will not only expand our production capacity but also strengthen our competitive position and contribute meaningfully to the nation's technological advancement in align with Atmanirbhar Bharat. I thank Government of Telangana for allotting this land to AMS and its continual encouragement to Aerospace & Defence Industries," he further added.
The project is set to create a consolidated Hyderabad campus for Apollo Micro Systems, integrating weapon systems manufacturing and testing. With enlarged capacity, the company aims to address rising defence demand while aligning operations with Atmanirbhar Bharat goals. The investment also deepens AMS’s role in indigenous defence production supported by the Government of Telangana.
