BCL Industries Secures Major Ethanol Order and Achieves Renewable Energy Certification
BCL Industries Limited, along with its subsidiary Svaksha Distillery Limited, has secured a substantial ethanol order under the Ethanol Blending Program for the Ethanol Supply Year 2025-2026. The total allocation amounts to 1,07,409 kiloliters (KL) of ethanol, which will be distributed to various Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) across India. This initiative underscores the company's ongoing commitment to India's ethanol blending efforts.

Out of the total ethanol allocation, BCL Industries received 60,183 KL, while Svaksha Distillery was allotted 47,226 KL. This includes 17,894 KL sourced from Reliance Industries. The distribution is planned over four quarters in FY26. This allocation highlights the company's strong position in the renewable energy and biofuel sectors.
In addition to its ethanol achievements, BCL Industries has reached a significant milestone in sustainability. The company received 50,077 International Renewable Energy Certificates (I-RECs) for renewable energy generated between January and September 2025 at its 10 MW biomass-based power plant in Bathinda, Punjab. This plant uses a 60 TPH biomass-fired boiler primarily fueled by paddy straw.
The use of paddy straw as fuel helps reduce carbon emissions and prevents stubble burning. The certification was granted under the I-REC Standard and facilitated in India by the International Carbon Exchange (ICX). BCL Industries plans to continue receiving I-RECs on a pro rata basis for future renewable power production.
Financially, BCL Industries reported a net profit increase of 4.52% in the September 2025 quarter, reaching Rs 28.90 crore compared to Rs 27.65 crore in the same period of the previous year. However, sales decreased by 4.14% to Rs 691.41 crore from Rs 721.28 crore in Q2FY25.
BCL Industries is one of India's largest agro-processing companies, with operations spanning rice milling, edible oils, grain-based distilleries, and real estate. As a member of the Mittal Group and a publicly listed entity, it continues to play a significant role in these sectors.
The company's ongoing efforts in clean energy and environmental sustainability are evident through its renewable energy initiatives and ethanol blending contributions. These efforts align with India's green energy goals and circular economy objectives.
