Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. Patents Innovative Electric Vehicle Charging Solution for GBT Vehicles
The Indian Patent Office has granted Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd. a patent for its innovative "System and Method for Charging an Electric Vehicle." This development addresses a long-standing compatibility issue in India's EV charging sector. The patented solution allows CCS2 DC fast chargers to efficiently charge GBT-based electric vehicles, marking a significant advancement in the country's EV charging infrastructure.
Servotech's technology acts as a smart converter, enabling GBT vehicles to charge quickly and safely when connected to a CCS2 charger. This is particularly beneficial as many older vehicles still rely on GBT charging technology, even as the industry shifts towards the CCS2 standard. The innovation ensures that existing vehicle owners are not left behind during this technological transition.
In a statement, Servotech Renewable Power System highlighted the importance of this breakthrough in optimizing charging infrastructure utilization. The company emphasized that the new system ensures existing vehicle owners remain part of the technological evolution. Servotech is now exploring broader deployment opportunities across fleet operators, public transport networks, and commercial charging hubs.
Successful trials have been conducted on select GB/T enabled EV buses and commercial EV cabs, demonstrating excellent performance and reliability. This success has encouraged Servotech to consider wider implementation of its technology, aiming to enhance the efficiency of India's EV ecosystem.
