Bhavish Aggarwal, founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Ola Electric Mobility Limited, is facing legal action after the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission South Goa issued a bailable arrest warrant against him for failing to appear before the panel in connection with a consumer complaint.
Arrest Warrant Issued Against Ola Electric CEO Bhavish Aggarwal
According to a report by The Times of India, the commission has directed the Bengaluru Police to execute the warrant and produce Aggarwal before it on February 23 at 10:30 am. Since the warrant is bailable, he may secure release upon furnishing a bond of Rs 1.47 lakh along with one surety of a similar amount.

What Is the Case Against Bhavish Aggarwal?
The matter stems from a complaint filed by Pritesh Chandrakant Ghadi regarding an Ola S1 Pro (Second Generation) electric scooter purchased in August 2023 for Rs 1.47 lakh.
In his complaint, Ghadi alleged that the scooter began emitting unusual noises from its motor shortly after delivery. He also claimed that the touchscreen interface was malfunctioning.
According to the complaint, the vehicle was handed over to an authorised Ola Electric dealer in Vasco, Goa, for repairs. However, the complainant alleged that even after a considerable period, the scooter's whereabouts remained unknown.
Ghadi further stated that he made multiple attempts to contact the company but did not receive a satisfactory response. He subsequently approached the consumer commission seeking redressal.
Bhavish Aggarwal Case Timeline: Commission's Observations and Order
During a hearing held on January 20, the commission observed that the location of the scooter was unclear. The panel noted that it was necessary to call upon the CEO and founder of the company to appear in person to clarify the vehicle's whereabouts and explain why it had not been returned to the customer despite repeated requests.
Aggarwal was directed to remain present before the commission on February 4. However, when he reportedly failed to appear on the scheduled date, the commission ordered the issuance of a bailable warrant.
The order stated that a bailable warrant be issued against the founder of Ola Electric in the amount of Rs 1,47,499 with one surety of like amount, to be executed through the concerned police station in Bengaluru. The matter has now been posted for further hearing on February 23.
