The LPG prices in India have been revised after oil market companies (OMCs) hiked the price of 14.2 Kg LPG cylinders by Rs 60 across cities, while the price of 19KG LPG cylinders has been increased by Rs 115 each across cities. In some cities, the 19Kg LPG prices are up by Rs 144 from yesterday. The reason behind spike in LPG prices is the surge in crude oil prices that is likely to impact the margins of OMCs and hence they have passed the impact to end consumers.

Crude Oil Prices:
US WTI Crude futures surged by nearly 31% on Monday to hit above $113 per barrel and Brent Crude oil climbed by 25% to trade above $115 per barrel, after major Middle Eastern producers announced a series of production cuts of crude following disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
As per Trading Economics, the spike marks the largest one-day gain since April 2020 and the highest price level since June 2022, building on last week's 35.6% rally. In Iraq, output from its three main southern oilfields has dropped by 70% to 1.3 million bpd from 4.3 million bpd prior to the conflict, according to industry sources. Kuwait, OPEC's fifth-largest producer, also began cutting production on Saturday and has declared force majeure. These followed LNG production cuts from Qatar last week, further tightening global supply.
