Bang Si-hyuk: Career Highlights

Bang Si-hyuk's career in the music industry began while he was still in college. He debuted as a composer and won the Yoo Jae-ha Music Contest in 1994. This victory launched his career as a songwriter and producer. In 1997, he met Park Jin-young and the two collaborated as a songwriting duo. Bang later joined JYP Entertainment as a composer, arranger, and producer, where he worked with renowned artists such as g.o.d, Im Chang-jung, Park Ji-yoon, Rain, Wonder Girls, 2AM, Teen Top, and Baek Ji-young.

In 2005, Bang founded Big Hit Entertainment, which would later become one of the most successful entertainment companies in South Korea. He signed RM at the age of 15, who later became the leader of the boy band BTS. Bang co-wrote six songs for BTS's 2016 album Wings, which contributed to the group's rising popularity. His achievements in the music industry were recognized when he won the Best Producer Award at the Mnet Asian Music Awards and the Songwriter Award at the Melon Music Awards in 2016. In 2018, Bang was named one of Variety's International Music Leaders due to BTS's remarkable achievements.
