Postal Life Insurance 

  • Indian citizens can purchase postal life insurance through the post office.
  • The regular postal life insurance provides risk coverage from Rs 20,000 to Rs 5 lakhs. 
  • The premium of the postal life insurance is very low as compared with the ones offered by most of the private insurance companies in India. 

ATM

  • People can withdraw money from ATM services offered by the India Post which is offered at some of the selected post offices in India.
  • The postal department is providing a separate ATM card to its customers to avail this service as it plans to extend this facility to all the cities across the country.

Mutual Fund Investment

  • The post offices in India also sells mutual funds.
  • The post office is providing this service in association with IDBI Bank.

Sending Money to Other Countries

  • The post office acts as a medium to send money to foreign countries. 
  • The outward remittance money will be credited to the bank account of beneficiaries who are staying in a foreign country. 
  • The maximum limit of outward remittance stands at US$ 5,000 and up to 12 outward remittances are allowed in a year and this facility is known as ‘MO Videsh’.
