Postinfo, the citizen-centric android Mobile application of Department of Posts developed by Centre for Excellence in Postal Technology.
India Post has the vast network to reach the remotest part of India. In rural, remote and urban areas India Post is present. To run with the period and boost the business India Post has launched its first mobile app "Postinfo" two years back.
Postinfo can be downloaded from Google App store for free. With this application, one can easily search post offices, track containers and calculate insurance premium and interest.

Search Post Office
To search for nearest post office using Post Office app, you need to enter first four character of the name of the Post office or Pin code of the office. A list of matching Post offices with Street address (location), contact details of the Post office, the name of the Division and contact details of the Divisional Superintendent details of Regional Postmaster General and the Chief Postmaster General will be displayed in the app.
Postage tariff
Postinfo will calculate the Postage (tariff) to be paid for all types of articles based on the weight entered by the user. You can get tariff details for mail items such as Ordinary letter, Speed post Domestic, Registered letter, Registered Parcel and Ordinary Registered book packet.
Post Office Premium calculator
India Post is providing many Life Insurance Policies through Postal Life Insurance and Rural Postal Life Insurance. The app users can check the premium payable for all the eligible types of Postal or Rural Postal Life insurance Policies on the basis of the input entered.
