6 Simple Steps To Access And Download PF Details Using UMANG App

The Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) enables a person from one app to view/access various customer-centered facilities such as Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), PAN, Aadhaar, Digilocker, making utility bill payments and so on. Developed and introduced by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the National e-Governance Division (NeGD) this app has now become the only medium for EPF holders to manage their account. The Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) is a government-established savings scheme for employees in the organized industry, widely known as the PF. The interest rate is determined annually by the EPFO retirement fund association. You can do so in four forms - SMS, Missed Call, Umang App and EPFO official portal - if you want to check the balance of your PF account. Without installing separate applications, you can access details relating to all the services listed above via the UMANG app. You can download the UMANG application on your device. The reality that you can use UMANG for EPF relevant services is a key advantage of the app. The specifics of the contributions rendered to your EPF during your employment with various employers are one of the features that you can take benefit from the app. That being said, you need to have an active UAN (Universal Account Number) and a mobile number recorded with Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) for this purpose. By simply logging in with your UAN and OTP, you can check your EPF balance and get your PF passbook on the Umang App. The UMANG app is available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to download. To check your PF balance using UMANG app cover the below listed basic steps:

6 Simple Steps To Access And Download PF Details Using UMANG App

You can access the specifics of the contributions rendered in your EPF account during employment with that specific employer by clicking on it. You also get an option on your phone to download the passbook in PDF format. You can check and validate the establishment number, member ID, name of the employer, complete specifics of employee's contribution, employer's contribution, and pension contribution in the passbook statement.

Note

The EPF or Employee Provident Fund is a pension fund for retirement benefits in which both employer and employee contribute 12 percent equally towards EPF. That being said, the EPF contribution has been limited to 10 percent in the scope of the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition, employees also receive interest on the funds contributed in their EPF account, which is based on the monthly balance, but which is credited at the end of the fiscal year. The EPF Interest Rate is calculated every financial year by the EPFO in accordance with the Ministry of Finance. The PF interest rate presently remains at 8.50 per cent per annum.
