Governments constantly coming up with different types of schemes to help and improve the lives of the farmers in the country. PM Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) Yojana is one such scheme by the government of India that was launched for the benefit of farmers.

Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a Centre-sponsored scheme by the Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers welfare that came into effect on December 1, 2018. The scheme provides income support to all landholding farmer families in the country to help them meet their agricultural, financial as well as home needs. The government's goal in launching the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is to provide financial assistance to the country's marginal farmers.

Instalments Under the PM-Kisan Scheme

Under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, the government provides financial assistance of Rs 6,000 to the farmers every year in instalments. This assistance is given by the government in the form of 3 instalments every four months.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi released the 11th instalment of this scheme on 31st May 2022 at the event in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh. Under the scheme government of India released 21,000 Crore for the beneficiaries.

Documents required for registration

Aadhaar Number is mandatory for this scheme. Apart from Aadhaar number, other documents such as citizenship certificate, landholding papers and bank account details have to be submitted to the concerned authorities.

How to register for PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana:

Farmers can register themselves through the Farmers Corner in the portal. You can also edit the name in the PM-Kisan database and know the status of the payment.

• Visit pmkisan.gov.in., the official website of the PM Kisan Samman scheme
• Then click on the farmers' corner option
• Now, click on the new registration option
• Enter the Aadhaar number and captcha code
• Give your land details.
• Click on the "submit" button
