YEAR EVENTS
1933 - The company was incorporated at Mumbai. The main objective of
the company is to manufacture sanitaryware, procelain articles,
wall glazed tiles, refractories, etc. Some of the products
manufactured are:

- (i) Sanitaryware: Viteous Indian/European/Anglo-Indian W.V. pans,
wash basins, footrests, sinks, etc.,

- (ii) Porcelain Articles: Bushing switches, electric insulators,
ball thread guides for cotton and silk mills, porcelain pegs and
pot eyes;

- (iii) Wall Gazed Tiles: White bright col./matt. ceramic marble
tiles, angles, cup and non-clip vitreous acid proof tiles; and

- (iv) General: Acid proof cement, acid resisting tanks, mortars
and pestles; porous pots and dishes, firebricks and fireclay
special refractories for glass and iron smelting furnace and
insulating bricks, etc.

1945 - 8,868 II Pref. shares and 13,750 No. of equity shares issued.

1949 - 180 No. of equity shares forfeited for non-payment of calls.
Arrears: 89,300.

1952 - Further 642 No. of equity shares and 241 II Pref. shares
forfeited.

1968 - Authorised capital increased in 1962. 7,089 Bonus Equity shares
issued in prop. 1:2.

1984 - Forfeited equity and Pref. shares reissued.

1985 - 10,000 No. of equity shares allotted at par in conversion of
debentures.

1986 - A scheme of Arrangement between the company, Dhunseri Tea and
Industries, Ltd. and Softex Intra, Ltd. was approved by High
Courts of Calcutta and Mumbai.

- Preference shares are redeemable on or before 14th June, 2003 as
per the provisions of the Companies Amendment Act, 1988.

1987 - The company sought the permission from requisite authorities for
development of Kurla land. Since the company came under the
provisions of the Sick Industrial Companies (Special Provisions)
Act 1985, a reference was made to the Board for Industrial &
Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) during the year.

1988 - 97,911 No. of equity shares allotted without payment in cash to
members of Softex Intra, Ltd. on its merger.

2008
