- The company was originally incorporated as a private limited company on 18th December. Subsequently the name was changed to Shree Karthik Papers Pvt. Ltd. on April 13th 1994. It became a public limited company on April 13, 1994. It was promoted by M.S. Velu and his wife. The company's object is to manufacture writing and printing paper.
- The company undertook to set up a project to manufacture 13350 tpa of writing and printing paper at village Kottur district Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Land admeasuring 30.02 acres was
acquired at the above said village and plant and machinery for the project were acquired indegenously. The company is to use waste paper as the raw material using the technology offered by the consultants M/s. Yes Aar Yen Engineering and consultants for a consideration of Rs.3.50 lakhs. For the erection and commissioning paper machine, paper mill etc., the company gave the contract to Monarch Machine Tools Pvt. Ltd. The company belongs to Servall Engineering group of companies, suppliers of main plant and machinery.

1996
- 28,71,700 No. of equity shares of Rs.10 each issued, subscribed and paid up. 32,38,300 No. of equity shares of Rs.10 each were issued at par in December 1994 of which 2,78,300 shares were issued on a firm basis to promoters, directors etc. Of the balance, 6,32,500 shares and 5,00,000 shares were reserved and allotted on a firm basis to NRIs/OCBs and Indian Mutual Funds respectively. Balance 18,27,500 shares issued to the public.
