Universal Prime Aluminium Limited, a Public Limited Companies incorporated under the Companies Act, 1956 with certificate of Registration No.(CIN) L28129MH1971PLC015207 issued by the Registrar of Companies, Maharashtra, Mumbai. It was promoted by Prakash Kumar Mohta in 1974, a first generation entrepreneur. P K Mohta is also the current chairman of the company. The Company does not have significant operations. Previously, it was engaged in the manufacture and sale of tubes and tin containers.

1974 :

The management of the company was taken over by Mr. Prakash Kumar Mohta early in 1974 as the project could not be implemented. The company was thereafter converted into a Public Limited Company and renamed "Universal Cans and Containers Limited."

1975 :

-The company started its manufacturing activities this year at Taloja near Bombay with an installed capacity of 18 million Nos. of Aluminium Collapsible Tubes per annum.

1978 :

-In order to meet the growing demand, the capacity was increased to 43 million Nos. per annum in this year.

1983 :

-The capacity was further raised to 100 million Nos. per annum in 1983.

1984 :

-The company diversified into the manufacture of Round and Oval Tin Containers used as packing medium for packing of Tooth and Talcum Powders at its existing location at Taloja with a capacity of 48 million Nos. per annum.

1989 :

-The company set up a unit at Hyderabad to manufacture Tin Containers by shifting part facilities from Taloja.

Users :

-The existing products of the Company viz., Aluminium Collapsible Tubes are used for filling tooth paste, cosmetics, medicinal creams etc., while Tin Containers are used for packing of tooth powder and talcum powder.

2003

-Shareholders approved delisting of its Equity shares from the Ahmedabad and Delhi Stock Exchanges.
