Daniel Křetínský was born on July 9, 1975, in Brno, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). His father, Mojmír Křetínský, is an informatics professor at Masaryk University, while his mother, Michaela Židlická, is a former justice of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic. Daniel graduated from the faculty of law of Masaryk University and started his career as a legal trainee in a law firm.
