Johan Johannson

Jóhann Jóhannsson was born on September 19, 1969, in Reykjavík, Iceland. He showed an early interest in music and began playing the piano at the age of seven. He later studied composition at the Reykjavík College of Music and the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen.

Jóhann Jóhannsson was married to fellow composer Hildur Guðnadóttir. They had two children together.

Jóhann Jóhannsson's career as a composer began in the early 1990s. He released his debut album, "Englabörn," in 1994. He went on to release a number of other albums, including "Virðulegu Forsetar" (1999), "IBM 1401, A User's Manual" (2006), and "Orphée" (2016).

Jóhannsson also composed music for a number of films, including "The Theory of Everything" (2014), "Sicario" (2015), and "Arrival" (2016). His work on "The Theory of Everything" earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Score.
