LPG Price in Assam (19th April 2024)

The Domestic LPG (14.2 kg) price in Assam (Guwahati) stands at ₹852.00. No change recorded in the LPG price compared to last month. Over the past 12 months, the LPG price trend has been decreasing, with a decrease of ₹300 from May 2023 to April 2024. The most significant price decrease was ₹200 in August 2023.

The LPG price in Assam is mainly determined by the state-run oil companies and the same is subject to change on a monthly basis based on the global crude fuel rates. The rise in crude oil leads to a rise in the LPG rates in Assam and vice-versa. LPG is a safe and colourless gas and hence its use has tremendously increased in the domestic and industrial sector. The government of India is currently providing domestic LPG Gas cylinder (14.2 kgs) in Assam at subsidized rates to the low-income section of the society. The subsidy amount will be directly transferred to the customer’s bank account. Currently, the cooking gas in India is easily accessible to most of the people.

Who are the target beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana?

The target beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana is the households which fall under the below poverty line (BPL) families. As per the scheme, five crore LPG connections have to be provided to all the BPL households in various phases over a period of three years.

The LPG connection under the Ujjwala Scheme will be released in the name of the women belonging to the BPL family.

The government has decided to cover the following categories under the scheme:
