How can a customer transfer LPG gas connection at the time of shifting the residence?
The customer has to follow certain steps and procedures for transferring of LPG gas connection while shifting the residence.
If the customer is shifting within the same distributor’s area of operation:
In this case, the customer has to provide his/her new address location along with supporting documents of residence as a proof which will help the respective distributor (Bharat Gas/Indane Gas/HP Gas) to change the residential address in their records for future supplies and from then on LPG gas cylinders will be delivered to the new place of residence.
If the customer is shifting within the same town:
In this case, the present distributor will not be able to deliver the cylinders to the new place of residence and hence one has to approach the respective distributor who is currently operational in that area to get a regular supply of cylinders along with the original subscription voucher (SV). The distributor will prepare a transfer termination voucher (TTV) for the new residential address. The customer can later approach the nearest respective LPG distributor serving at the place of new residence along with the proof of residence, Domestic Gas Consumer Card (DGCC) booklet, TTV. The distributor will prepare a Transfer Subscription Voucher (TSV) against the customers TTV and shall provide a new consumer number and the same will be updated in the customer’s DGCC booklet for further reference.
Please Note: The customer need not have to surrender the equipment if he/she is shifting residence within the same town and hence one can carry the domestic cylinder and pressure regulator to the new residence from the old ones.
If the customer is shifting out of the town:
In this case, one has to surrender the equipment – cylinder, pressure regulator to the respective gas distributor.
In such a case, one can approach the existing distributor along with the subscription voucher (SV) or Transfer Subscription Voucher (TSV) as the case may be along with the domestic gas consumer card (DGCC) booklet and two cylinders and pressure regulator. The distributor, in turn, will prepare a Termination Voucher (TV) in the customer's name for the new place and will, in turn, deposit the refund which was earlier held against the cylinders and regulator. As per the request, the distributor will arrange to collect the equipment from the current premises on payment of certain charges. The distributor will also guide the customer to get in touch with the nearest distributor present in the new location wherein the customer is set to relocate for further services and thereby can resume the supplies of the respective distributor at the new residential address.
